Opruimgroep Schilderswijk

2025 | Collage / Print

In this project, I joined local clean-up group ‘Schilderswijk’ in Venlo-Noord during their waste collection rounds. Together, we gathered discarded objects from the streets and neighborhoods. These found materials became the raw ingredients for a photographic collage.

The collected waste was carefully arranged and photographed in my studio using a professional camera. The final image is printed and given to the participants of the clean-up action as a tangible reminder of their collective effort, transforming everyday litter into a shared artwork.

The project explores ideas of value, attention, and care, and reflects on how collective action can turn overlooked materials into something meaningful.
